Retd tehsildar gets 6 months imprisonment

SR

A local court has sentenced a retired tehsildar to imprisonment for six months and a land record superintendent for three years on the charge of causing financial loss to the State exchequer.

According to prosecution, the then Sehore tehsildar SK Sharma and the then assistant land record superintendent PN Mourya had certified between 1988 and 1989 more than 200 mutations were made directly on amended register instead of registered document, thereby causing loss to the State exchequer. Following a complaint, the Collector handed over the inquiry into the matter to the “Economic Offences Wing,” which registered a case against Sharma, Mourya and a patwatri. Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Shrotriya, while delivering the verdict on Wednesday, imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on Sharma and Rs50,000 on Mourya.
