Residents of a private colony in at Dharnaka locality in Mhow have stood up against the private coloniser demanding that the coloniser should be prevented from initiating new projects as it has failed to provide essential civic amenities in the colony.

The residents of Aashiyana colony have  submitted a complain to Mhowgaon Nagar Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) that the coloniser has not provided us the basic facility of road, electricity, water and drainage and due to which the residents are facing difficulty in day to day life.

The residents say that they are paying taxes to the Nagar Panchayat and it is the responsibility of the Nagar Panchayat to provide them these civic facilities. The complaint has been backed by deputy president of Indore Congress Committee Mahesh Soni.

CEO Nagar Panchayat Ajay Singh Chouhan told that till date Aashiyana colony is not handed over to Nagar Panchayat and also that it will not take over the colony till the coloniser does not complete the development work.

The residents alleged that the State Government should auction the bonded plots of Aashiyana colony and do the development work as every coloniser keeps the few plots of his colony bonded to concerned SDM who gives diversion order and development permission to the colony which is freed by the administration only after the development work is over.

They have also demanded that the administration should ban the sale and registry of the plots of colonies being developed by the coloniser in the region  till it do not completes the development of Aashiyana colony. The resident of the colony have sent their complaint to Indore Collector and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
