leading Real Estate and Infrastructure Consultants of the country - Rudrabhishek Enterprises Private limited (REPl), in consortium with PricewaterhouseCoopers, had been roped by Union Ministry of Urban Development to assist the municipal corporation of Bhopal for designing and development of modern infrastructure of Bhopal Smart City.
REPl developed the comprehensive Smart City Plan for Bhopal that was selected among top 20 in the list announced by GOI in January 2016. This paves the way for Bhopal smart city to be implemented in the first phase with the central fund outlay to be allocated in current year.
The planned smart city would be spread over the 350 acres at Shivaji Nagar, Southern part of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The modernization of city requires an approx fund of Rs 3,000 Cr which would be arranged by Central Government, State Government and private players under the PPP model.
