A continuous spell of heavy rain for the last three days has cut off the city from Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Hoshangabad and Rajgarh. Water was overflowing the bridges along the roads.

The rain that started on Friday night continued till Sunday evening, with a break for a couple of hours on mid-day Sunday  providing a bit relief to the Bhopalites.

There was waterlogging in the low-lying areas of the city besides many roads were submerged. Traffic on the roads was moving slow  though the volume was less the day being Sunday.

In Sarni also six gates of Satpura dam have been opened up to 4 four feet and 20, 400 cusec of water has been released through them due to which contact of many villages has been cut off from the city, including rehabilitation centre Chopna and loniya panchayat.

Vidisha has been cut off from Ashok Nagar due to continuous rain, Betwa river is on the spate and the water was flowing over its bridge. Two gates each of Sanjay Sagar dam and Sagad dam of the districts have been opened. Dhasan river in Sagar is also in spate due to incessant rain and the roads connecting the city from Bina, Bhopal and Vidisha have been cut off. life in Bina has gone out of gear as the Betwa and Bina rivers in the district are in spate.
