In the wake of the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, the railway administration has taken significant steps to enhance security across stations in Madhya Pradesh. An immediate alert has been issued in the Bhopal division, with railway officials visiting stations to assess the situation.
The stampede, which occurred late on Saturday night at New Delhi Railway Station, claimed 18 lives, including nine women, four men, and five children. More than 25 people were injured, some critically. The incident has raised serious concerns over the railway administration’s security measures.
With over 50 Kumbh Special trains running daily in the Bhopal division, the railway administration has intensified monitoring at all stations. Senior railway officials, despite it being a holiday, personally inspected various stations to ensure adequate safety measures. Additionally, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and other railway staff have been instructed to remain stationed at key points. Authorities have been directed to immediately report any surge in crowds so that prompt security measures can be implemented.
Following the stampede in Delhi, the number of casualties may increase. The injured have been admitted to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College for treatment. The railway administration is taking all necessary steps to manage the situation and prevent such incidents in the future.
In response to the tragedy, railway officials have decided to enforce strict monitoring at every station, ensuring that no negligence occurs. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance passenger safety in the coming days.
