PNS

Urban Administration and Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya here on Saturday took a dig at the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi after the latter's return from Bangkok saying that Rahul is a ‘pappu’ as Bangkok is not a place from where one can gain knowledge. While inaugurating Antyoday Mela at Dussehara Maidan on Saturday morning, Vijayvargiya in reaction to a query of media persons, taking a jibe on Rahul Gandhi's return to India, said that by going to Bangkok, Rahul Gandhi has proved  himself a ‘pappu’ (an ignorant person who pledges innocence) as Bangkok is certainly not a place from where on can  acquire knowledge.

Earlier, Vijayvargiya while inaugurating the ‘Antyoday mela’ provided monetary assistance worth Rs42.45 cr to the beneficiaries under various flagship schemes of the State Government. Besides distributing cheques to some beneficiaries, he also issued cheques issuance letters and other certificates to the beneficiaries. Talking about Pt Deendayal Upadhyay and his philosophy of ‘Ekatma Manavwaad’, Vijayvargiya said that an all-round development society is possible only when we take care of persons in the last rung of the society. He said all-round development of the poor is the sole priority of the state Government.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in order to fulfil the dreams of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay has taken necessary steps and ‘Antyodaya Melas’ is one of them. He said such fairs give an opportunity to provide benefits of Government schemes to a large section of people at a single place. Notable among those who were present on the occasion included Indore district panchayat president Kavita Patidar, IDA chairman Shankal lalwani, BJP MlA Sudarshan Gupta, Collector Ashish Singh, among others.
