Promote science, preserve Sanatan Dharma: Bhagwat

PNS

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that the need of the hour is to formulate policies that follow the middle path. "No one desires to destroy environment. Some impact is, nevertheless, inevitable on the arrival of foreign companies. Nobody wants to scuttle development. Nonetheless, environmentalists take recourse to agitations against development. It is, therefore, imperative to carve out a middle way," said Bhagwat while inaugurating the three-day Ideological Mahakumbh here on Thursday.

He said that such policies are needed that will promote science while preserving 'Sanatan Dharma'. Something needs to be done that would enhance happiness but not harm policies.

Bhagwat said that the system should be egalitarian and exploitation-free. Perpetual happiness is mere daydreaming unless everyone is happy. The more science is manifesting, the more it is coming closer to spiritualism. In the welcome address, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Vichar Mahakumbh is being held since Kumbh is directly connected to churning of thoughts. He said that its objective is to ensure the State's welfare through the thought processes of the saints and seers. He said that in India respect has been shown towards all ideologies, thought processes and philosophies. All of them command considerable respect and honour, he added.

Juna Pithadheeshwar Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avedheshanand Giri said that the next century

It will seek the leadership of Indian spiritualism. The path of spiritualism emanating from India will guide the world.

Gayatri Parivar's chairman Pranav Pandya said that it is time to adopt scientific spiritualism. Describing Vichar Kumbh as a parliament of the people, he said that it is the most suitable forum to thrash out solutions.

Buddhism's representative Upatissa Nayak Thero disclosed that the Sri lankan President would attend Vichar Kumbh's concluding session. He said that Ujjain and Sanchi have always been etched in his memory.

Senior RSS leader Suresh Bhaiyya Ji Joshi would declaim to the event on Friday while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the event on the last day.
