On the centenary year of famous poet and lyricist Asad Bhopali by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Sanskriti Parishad, Culture Department, "Pyaar Bantte Chalo" was organized on Monday. The programme was broadcast live on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy.
Director of Urdu Academy, Nusrat Mehdi while giving information about the programme said that Asad Bhopali is one of those poets who brought laurels to Bhopal with his best songs in bollywood. Through this programme, we aim to make the younger generation aware of their exploits.
Senior writer and poet Professor Atiqullah presiding over the programme said that Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy deserves thanks for organizing a memorial function in the memory of an important poet, otherwise the truth is that we started forgetting Asad Bhopali.
We need to remember Asad Bhopali and all those poets who collected the mental and cultural history of Bhopal and who tried to make this Bhopal center in the map of India, she added.
The chief guest of the programme, famous film writer and director Rumi Jafri said that the poets of Urdu literature in the film industry after independence and who worked for the development of Urdu literature in the film industry were Majrooh Sultanpuri, Sahir, Raja Mehdi Ali, Kaifi. Azmi, Ali Sardar Jafri. This list would not be complete without Asad Bhopali. Asad Bhopali maintained the criterion of poetry even in film songs.
"The quality of Asad Bhopali that impressed me is that he gave breaks to most music directors. Generally it happens that music directors give breaks to lyricists but Asad Bhopali gave breaks to music directors on the contrary," he added.
