Professional exam: Candidates to get letters within 3 mnths

SR

The State Government has decided that appointment letters should be issued to candidates selected by Profession Exam Board within maximum 3 months after release of merit list. The State Government has issued directives in this regard to all departments, divisional commissioners, heads of departments, collectors and CEOs of district Panchayats.

It has been said in the directives that proposal to extend validity period will not be acceptable in any case. If such cases are detected then heads of departments will be held directly accountable. They have also been directed to instruct the sub-ordinate staff to follow these directives strictly.

It has come to the notice of the State Government that concerning departments make inordinate delay in issuing appointment letters after release of merit list of exam conducted by PEB. After expiry of validity period, letters are written to General Administration Department and PEB to extend it.

This not only affects Govt work, but also causes difficulty to candidates on not getting appointment letters in time and they have to take rounds of offices in this regard. Such an attitude on the part on departments amounts to negligence on their part.

Earlier, some delay was caused due to character certification before appointment. But through its circular of year 2012, the General Administration Department has made arrangements to issue appointment letter in anticipation of character certificate. Therefore, there should be no delay in issuing appointment letters.
