Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, the main accused in the Malegaon blast case, was admitted in Swami Vivekananda Spine Centre (SVSC) on Wednesday, following a paralytic attack.
Initially, she complained of hypertension early in the afternoon and jail doctor NR Azad gave her some medicines and injections. Subsequently, she was shifted to the BMHRC. later in the day, she was referred to SVSC.
Pragya was lodged in Central Jail, Bhopal and suffers from cancer of the breast and spine. Doctors at the SVSC, after examining Pragya, said the left side of her body was paralysed and she was unconscious when she was brought to the centre.
Doctors attending to her said her MRI test report indicated that her condition was very critical. Pragya's sister is accompanying her since she was brought to the hospital.
Sources claimed that Pragya was in the habit of not taking her medicines which deteriorated her health. She took only homoeopathy and ayurvedic medicines in the jail, sources added.
Meanwhile, the jail administration has informed her family members about her serious condition. She was brought from Mumbai to Bhopal last year for trial in connection with the killing of former RSS worker Sunil Joshi.
Joshi was killed in Dewas on December 29, 2007, following which a case was registered against Pragya and others by Madhya Pradesh police. The investigation into the case was later taken over by National Investigation Agency (NIA).
