Three students sustained serious injuries in a clash between two groups of junior and senior girl students over a petty issue in the Polytechnic hostel late on Monday night.
According to the police, the incident was reported around 11 pm in the girls' hostel of the Polytechnic. Senior students have alleged that the junior girls use filthy language while talking to them while the juniors claimed that the senior students bully them to wear clothes according to their wish.
As soon as the clash broke out, three girls -- Shikha, Mala and Shyamkanya -- became unconscious and they were rushed to hospital. The incident also was reported to police and a police team rushed to the spot and control the situation.
later, the ruckus continued on Tuesday as well, when the students almost came to blows. Tehsildar and SDOP Avneesh Bansal reached the spot and controlled the situation.
Sources said the clash could have been avoided had the hostel management intervened on time. Trouble was brewing for some time now, but no precautionary measures were taken. Polytechnic principal RS Verma, who lives in Bhopal, also did not turn up despite being informed about the clash in the hostel.
Hostel warden Seema Keer told that she had written to the principal demanding expulsion of the girl students who were involved in indiscipline. Meanwhile, Kotwali police station SHO lalit Singh Dagur told that action is being taken on both the groups.
