Police are still clueless about the whereabouts of a Dalit teenaged gang rape victim who has been missing since the past 12 days from Jabalpur district of the state and are not ruling out the theory of her abduction by the accused to pressurize her to agree for a compromise.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) — West Vipul Srivastava said four teams have been formed to track down the 16 year old Dalit victim. Nine rape accused have been taken into custody while police are searching for other three accused. The victim had gone to a bank along with her sister on May 29 last year when she was abducted from outside the bank while she was standing alone. She was taken to a house, held captive and sexually assaulted for three days. Nine accused were arrested but they were later released on bail whereas police failed to nab three other accused. Her family members alleged that the accused had been threatening to kill and pressurizing the girl and her mother to change their statement. A complaint in this regard was lodged in police station but it went unheeded. The hearing in the matter is scheduled in the court on May 31, 2016.

However, the girl has been missing since May 16, 2016. A missing complaint was lodged by her mother next day in which she mentioned that she feared that she has been abducted.
