A miscreant involved in gold chains’ snatchings was nabbed from GTB Complex by crime branch Bhopal. Two gold chains have been recovered from his possession, while his accomplice is absconding.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Shailendra Singh Chouhan said that acting on a tip off regarding a man wandering suspiciously and trying to sell gold chain.
Interestingly when the nabbed man was questioned he started to speak in English with the police personnel and tried to dominate the police personnel but failed to influence them and later confessed that he along with the other accomplice had robbed the gold chains. It was confirmed that the two have committed around half dozen crimes in Ganj Basoda area. They used to steal motorbike and would use the same bike for robbery and would later escape through trains keeping the bike at the railway station, he added.
The nabbed accused was identified as Sikandar alias Sameer while his accomplice Iqbal Khan is still absconding and search has been started for the missing accused.
Motorbike recovered from his possession was installed with fake registration number and have used the same trick in the earlier crimes.
Acting on a tip off the miscreant was nabbed while he was trying to sell gold chain. Among the recent crimes accused had confessed robbery in Govindpura and Habibganj areas.
During the investigation police found that the accused used to commit robbery using a black colored Bajaj Pulsar motorbike which has been seized.
The accused used to escape after the robbery and would return after spending the money obtained by selling robbed gold chains and other valuables.
Accused confirmed that they have commit robbery in Bhopal, Vidisha and Ganj Basoda areas. The nabbed accused is a resident of Bhanpur.
