Crime branch conducted a raid on notorious bookie Bhaiya Kachra and arrested 6 aides and recovered Rs 7400 cash and betting slips.
Betting business was conducted on a large scale, the main accused Bhaiya is betting from outside Bhopal. Efforts to collect information about the property of bookies have been started. Action will be taken to attach the property acquired from illegal sources.
Teams from the police station crime branch were dispatched to take effective action on gambling bets in Bhopal . After confirming the information, the senior officers were informed and raided at different betting places.
During the raid proceedings 6 bookies Zubair Khan, Suresh Charan, Amar Singh, Naseer Ahmed, Idris Sheikh and Ravi were caught with betting slips, the accused were arrested after confiscating the speculative slips and cash Rs 7400 .
On interrogation of the accused, it was learned that Bhaiya Kachra is out of Bhopal, who is running a betting business outside. Bhaiyya has also been made a co-accused in the case.
A case under A Gambling Act was registered against the accused. The accused arrested and absconding have a past criminal record and investigation has been started. Mobile phones recovered from the accused would be investigated for obtaining details of other bettings and nexus.
