Gandhi Nagar police booked two youths for sexually assaulting a minor girl at Gond Basti late in the night on Monday; atrocity was an act of revenge as family of accused had a fight with the victim’s family.
Police said victim’s parents were in Rajasthan at the time of the incident and the two took chance to rape the victim who was asleep in her house with her cousin.
The incident took place at around 2 in the night when the victim was asleep. The miscreants entered the house and physically assaulted the victim and her cousin and raped the victim.
Investigating Officer SI Praveen Chouhan said that the family of the victim has dispute with the family of the accused identified as Om and Keshu. The accused were aware that the parents of the victim were not present in the city and have gone to Rajasthan.
The victim told the police that the accused threatened the accused before leaving not to report the incident but the victim braved and on Tuesday she approached Gandhi Nagar police along with her aunt and lodged a complaint against the miscreants.
The police have registered a case under section 376 (2) (N), 450 and 323 of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act and started further investigation.
At the time of the incident victim’s cousin brother was held captive by one of the accused while other raped the victim and in the same manner the two took turn to rape the victim.
