The Kamla Nagar police have booked miscreant for duping a former Congress corporator to the tune of `1 lakh by encashing cheque provided for payment of insurance premium; police have started investigation.
Case of fraud was registered by police, after victim Pradeep alias Monu Saxena lodged complaint regarding fraudulently clearing cheque which was issued for insurance premium payment.
Police said that victim lodged complaint and provided details of the cheque provided by him and based on the details probe was conducted and later a case under section 420 of the IPC was registered against unidentified miscreant.
In his complaint victim stated that he received call regarding payment of LIC insurance which was in the year 2019 and he dispatched cheque through speed post but it was found that cheque was misplaced and Italika service company managed to deposit Rs 101837 in their account. After the victim came to know regarding the due of LIC premium he checked and found that he has been cheated and later he found that company was involved which forged the cheque and deposited the cheque in their account and collected the money.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
