Misrod police have booked a miscreant for sexually assaulting a 17 year-old minor near Sagar Royal Vila on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Deepak Panthi, who was acquainted and accompanied her to a secluded place in the afternoon. The victim managed to escape and later lodged a complaint with the police.
In her complaint, the victim stated that the police that she was acquainted with the accused. On Sunday afternoon he offered her a ride near Sagar Royal Vila and took her to a secluded place and took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted her and threatened her of life and told her not to report the incident to the her family and police.
Initially the victim kept mum but later she mustered courage and reported the incident to her family and a complaint against the accused was lodged by victim.
The police have registered a case under section 376(2) (N), 506 of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act and have started further investigation.The victim lives at Ishwar Nagar in Shahpura with her family. Deepak was acquainted with victim and used to meet her frequently.
After the complaint was lodged the accused went absconding and search for the accused was started and later he was nabbed. The accused works as a driver with a private firm and was in the car which was owned by the firm. Crime record of the accused would be investigated.
