Crime Branch Bhopal nabbed an illegal arms dealer and recovered a country-made pistol and 1 live cartridge recovered from the accused, smuggling pistols was done by posing as garment trader.
Accused has a past criminal record and came to supply pistol in Bhopal, pistols are sold in the range of Rs 20000-Rs 25000.
A team of police station Crime Branch Bhopal received information that a person who is hiding under the bridge near Subhash railway crossing gate wearing a purple shirt and black trousers has come to sell a pistol from outside and he is carrying a pistol.
On information, the crime branch team detained a man identified as Shakeel of Mohalla Mandai Sadar Bazar Road, Sharangpur district, Rajgarh and recovered a country-made pistol and one live cartridge. After confiscating pistol and live cartridges from the accused, investigation is being done by registering a case against the accused under section 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
In the preliminary interrogation, the accused Shakeel told that he runs a clothes shop in Sarangpur as well as supplying pistols which cost Rs 20000-Rs 25000. He supplies the pistol as the deal is decided. Inquiries are being made in relation to whom the accused brings the pistol and how many people have been supplied the pistol so far.
