PNS

The Bharatiya Sindhi Sabha will press for grant of Indian citizenship to Pakistani Sindhis living in Indore and other places in India who do not want to go back to Pakistan as their business there had collapsed.

A meeting of the State executive body of the Bharatiya Sindhi Sabha will held in Bhopal on Sunday. Besides officials from Madhya Pradesh, the president of the national executive body of the Sabha, ladharam Nagwani, the general secretary, Ghanshyamdas Kukreja, and the vice-president, Vishal Hariyani, are also expected to take part in the meeting. The meeting would be presided over by  Bhagwandas Sabnani.

Briefing about the State executive body meeting, the president of the Indore unit of the Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha said that there are several Pakistani Sindhis living in Indore and they do not want to go back to Pakistan as their business in Pakistan has collapsed.

He said in the past few years on several occasions the demand for according Indian citizenship to Pakistani Sindhis was raised but the erstwhile Congress Government paid no heed. However, as the new BJP Government led by Narendra Modi has taken over the governance of the country, Sindhis are hopeful that the new Government will take due cognizance of their just demands. Keeping this in mind, the State executive body of the Sabha at its meeting in Bhopal on Sunday will pass a resolution asking the Union Government to accord Indian citizenship to Pakistani Sindhis living in the country, he added.
