Staff Reporter

The Piplani police within 24 hours solved the sensational murder case in which a tantrik was brutally killed when he was asleep at his residence on Friday morning. Illicit relationship of victim’s wife emerged as the reason behind the murder.

The police have arrested three persons including victim’s wife Sheela Joshi and her paramour Amritlal Joshi. Police have recovered sharp-edged weapon, two mobile phones and a motorbike. Notably, 28-year-old tantric Gopal Joshi was killed by slitting throat at his Hathaikheda residence early in the morning. His wife had claimed that when she had gone to dispose garbage at the nearby place and on return, she found her husband murdered.

During preliminary investigation, police found that Sheela was in relationship with victim’s cousin Amritlal Joshi (31). When the police started searching for Amritlal, his friends told three days ago, he had gone to Rajasthan to meet his sister. However, his mobile phone’s last location was in the city, but switched off. However, it was found that Amritlal had changed his SIM on Friday itself.

On the other hand, when Sheela was questioned she confessed to have killed her husband with the help of Amritlal and Deepak Chouksey (20).  Around 10-12 days ago they had hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Gopal. Amritlal had promised to give Rs 5000 to Deepak Chouskey, who works as a driver, to help in dumping the body in Parwati River.

To execute the plan, Sheela told police that she had opened the main door for Amritlal and Deepak and left out for sometime. When she returned, found that her four-year-old son had awakened and was crying. By the time, the two were making efforts to dump the body in a sack, but in the situation, Sheela told them to leave the place otherwise her son would recognize them.

As soon as the two left the place, she raised an alarm and the neighbours reached the place. Victim’s mobile phone was also recovered from the possession of Amritlal

Police said that Gopal’s financial condition was not good and the Amritlal used to support him financially. Sometime ago, he has given around Rs 25000 to Gopal for buying a house in Hathaikheda and when the victim shifted in the new house, Amritlal and Sheela came close and developed relationship. Few days ago Sheela’s brother Pankaj caught Amritlal and Sheela in compromising position and informed the victim and this lead to a fight between the Amritlal and Gopal and was pacified later by the two families.
