The State Congress has decided that all the district and city bodies of party organisations would include a member each from the families of freedom-fighters.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav has instructed to all the district presidents of the party to compulsorily include a member from the family of freedom-fighters in their executive committee.
Yadav in a statement here on Saturday said, “On the occasion of the 70th day of freedom of the country we have decided to make the State a model State that would have a member from the family of freedom fighters as vice president and or general secretary in every district and city executive committee. Instructions in this regard have already been sent to all the district presidents of the party.”
Yadav further said that this unique decision was taken on the occasion of ‘Bharat Chhodo Diwas’ (Quit India Day), being celebrated on August 9.
The timely decision has come on the occasion of the 70th freedom year of the country. As there are very few living freedom-fighters and the Congress does not want to forget their sacrifices it is decided to include a member of their families each in the party.
He instructed all the district and city Congress Committee presidents to implement this important and timely decision of the leadership within one month and inform the MPCC with the names of freedom fighters family included in the executive committee.
