BJP state president Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday said that party tickets would not be distributed on only the basis of surveys and opinions of various organisations of the party.

Tomar while talking to the mediapersons at the party’s State headquarters said that referendum opinion of various organisations of the party would also play important role in distribution of party tickets to the party candidates. Tomar further said that the survey for the 230 Assembly constituencies of the State was supposed to be held between August 18 and 25 but due to heavy rains and floods the survey could be completed for the seats of 40 districts only. For the remaining 10 districts the survey would be done on August 31. Indore, Khandwa, Hoshangabad, Guna, Shajapur, Betul, Dewas, Katni, Sagar and Siwni are the districts that were left and where survey would be done on August 31, he added.

Of the 40 districts where survey was done report of 21 in sealed envelopes has already reached the party office. In September the committee would open these envelops and would consider the names of candidates suggested by them. Referendum is only an important base for the providing ticket. Before finalising the ticket the election campaign committee would also consider the survey report and the opinion of the members of the umbrella organizations about the candidate. Final decision would be taken by the members of the committee only, he added. He said that the party is working seriously for the success of Mission 2013, and no stone would be left unturned for making it success. Youth Convention on September 1 and Women convention on September 2, going to be held in Bhopal are part of the programme of Mission 2013, he added.
