In the 12-year tenure of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, not only has the number of tigers (national animal) increased remarkably but other states have also adopted the schemes for relocation of Bluebulls, Barasingha, Gour, Black bugs etc.
Giving this information Forest Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar said that efforts continue to control Bluebulls from destroying the standing crops since ages.
Several states gave permission for their hunting but Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was completely against it. This year the Forest Department successfully released the Bluebulls into the jungle without hurting them. Now various states are acquiring this technique from Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, state Forest Department relocated hardground Barasinghas left only in Kanha to Bhopal. Apart from this, it also successfully relocated Gour and Black bugs.
Tigers had disappeared in Panna. But with the tigers brought from Kanha and Bandhavgarh in year 2009, the number has today multiplied to 30.
With management, conservation and relocation of wildlife in Madhya Pradesh, India has become a Vishwa Guru.
For the first time the orphaned tiger cubs of Kanha Tiger Reserve were nurtured by forest workers, they were taught to hunt and then released into the forest. Today they are self-reliant.
Shejwar told that Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country where one-third of the revenue generated from tiger reserve is used for local development and two-third revenue is used for the development of national parks.
