A 19-year-old youth was beaten by half a dozen armed men in Gunga area on Saturday after he opposed teasing of his sister. Condition of the victim is reportedly critical. The victim Govind Meena was attacked by five youths on Saturday after they have a verbal spate on teasing of Govind’s sister by Rajesh Meena.
The in-charge of Gunga police station Kuldeep Khatri said that a heated exchange took place between Govind and Rajesh after Govind’s sister complained of teasing by Rajesh and when Govind went to talk to Rajesh, the verbal exchange was soon joined by Rajesh’s friend and later, the fight turned physical when Rajesh along with others attacked Govind with wooden sticks and injured him severely and later, escaped the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is reportedly critical.
He denied any case of teasing against the accused and claimed that the victim has sustained severe injuries in his head and his condition is reportedly critical. In the further investigation, if it is found that the victim’s sister was molested, a case would be registered against the accused. A complaint was lodged against Rajesh, Vinod, Vikram, Vikas and Narayan.
The victim is undergoing treatment at Shruti hospital. Till the filing of the report, no arrests were made by the police and have claimed that few people have been detained and the accused would be nabbed soon. The police have registered a case under section 294, 323, 506, 34 and 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
