OP Shukla, OSD with the then MP Technical Education Minister laxmikant Sharma, who was arrested for involved in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examinations Board (MPPEB) scam was produced in the court on Thursday after his police remand ended.
The police custody has been extended till February 20. Soon after an FIR was registered against him, Shukla had gone missing, but he dramatically appeared few days ago and surrendered at the STF office. When Shukla surrendered before the STF, officials confirmed that with the surrender of Shukla vital information related to the case could be obtained. STF officials told that these Shukla and others arrested till date could be termed as mediators and facilitators to clear the examination and the main accused are big names which could be revealed at the moment as the investigations are on and would take time.
The STF officials are facing a different type of problem, as the scorers nabbed in the investigation are sourced by different people who have made the investigation a complex process as every clue leads to a new gang or group of people involved in providing scorers or facilitators.
More than 100 people have been arrested till date in the MPPEB examination scam and the number of booked accused would run in hundreds. Still there are several absconders who are yet to be traced and arrested but it would take time.Another kind of problem faced by the STF is producing and justifying the candidates suspected to be involved in the examination scam.
