A police constable was killed, while a head constable was seriously injured in a road accident, when their bike was hit by a speeding car near Sardar Farm House under Sukhi Sewania police station area on Thursday.
According to police, lal Singh Pawar (38) along with Chen Singh had gone to Vidisha for official work and at around 8 pm while on their way to Bhopal a car hit their motorbike head on at Sardar Farm House.
The victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where lal Singh was declared dead while Chen Singh sustained serious injuries in the accident. The driver of the car escaped the spot leaving his vehicle behind and is still at large.
The condition of the injured head constable is reportedly critical and is undergoing treatment at JP hospital. Chen Singh is at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) as a head constable.
lal Singh used to live near MlA quarters and was also posted in the CID as a constable. After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under 304 (A) of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Ayodhya Nagar under Piplani police station area on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased Karun Suman was found hanging at his residence on Friday morning by his sister-in-law when she returned from her parents’ house.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrCP.
