AIIMS Bhopal, with its diverse student body from across India, is a true reflection of our nation's cultural richness and diversity.

Recognising this, honourable Executive Director Professor Dr. Ajai Singh has taken several initiatives to enhance and enrich the cultural atmosphere at AIIMS Bhopal, making students feel at home. As a part of this, Onam was celebrated at AIIMS Bhopal on Sunday.

The celebration commenced at 11:30 AM and unfolded a series of vibrant events. The program began with a serene prayer song, setting a peaceful tone for the event. This was followed by the grand entry of King Mahabali, a central figure in the Onam festival, and a captivating Puli Kali performance, which added an energetic and lively touch to the occasion. Faculty members present for the celebrations were welcomed as honoured guests, further adding prestige to the event. The traditional lamp-lighting ceremony enriched the atmosphere with its symbolism and cultural significance.

The festivities continued with Thiruvathira dance, a traditional dance form of Kerala, and another mesmerising performance that showcased the essence of Onam's cultural heritage. Dr Rajesh Pasricha shared valuable insights and perspectives aligned with the festival's values. The event culminated with a delightful Sadhya, a traditional Kerala meal on a plantain leaf. This meal fostered unity and enjoyment among professors and students and symbolized the importance of togetherness and community.
