Accusing BJP bigwig of being the mastermind behind the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board inconsistencies, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and former Union Minister Arun Yadav on Tuesday demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation. While talking to mediapersons, Yadav said, “Our senior leaders on Monday revealed as how an excel sheet containing names (obtained from the computer of MPPEB system analyst Nitin Mahindra) was tampered with at the orchestration of the Chief Minister in order to delete incriminating references to his post.”
The Congress reposes no faith in the Special Task Force (STF) that is inquiring into the case and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is monitoring the probe, Yadav said, adding that his party demands recommendation of a CBI inquiry. “Both the STF and the SIT are working at Chouhan's behest. The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued a clarification vis-a-vis the Congress' allegation and threatened toinitiate legal action against the party but if he is innocent then why is he issuing a clarification. The Congress is prepared to face any legal action,” Yadav said.
When asked whether Governor Ram Naresh Yadav should bow out of office as his son's name finds mention in the scam, Yadav replied in the affirmative and added that those involved in the irregularities ruined the lives of thousands. Alleging that the BJP's student wing Akhil BharatiyaVidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and saffron party workers were indulging in hooliganism during the past 10 to 12 years, he said that the Congress would support the State Government employees' strike commencing from Wednesday.
