Now, cops hear people's issues to improve image

Staff Reporter

To improve the image of the police among the public, the police department has initiated schemes like  ‘Apki police apke paas’. Under this, the cops are out to improve the image of the police by hearing problems of the people in rural areas.

This was said by Raisen district SP Deepak Verma, while addressing police personnel at the District Police line on Friday.

First, Verma took salute of the parade organised at the police line and reviewed different branches of the line. He also rewarded the cops who were dressed smartly, while those in improper uniform, were punished.

Verma congratulated the police personnel for peaceful conduct of the festival by discharging their duties properly. He told that cops should behave properly with the common because people expect such a behaviour from the policemen. “People come to the police only when they are in problem, like we go to the doctor, if we become sick. Thus, it is our duty to listen the problems sympathetically and solve them,” he added.

He asked the cops present to pledge that once in a month they should be engaged in such a good work that would bring laurels to the police station, police department and the State. He asked the policemen to avoid consuming liquor, as it destroys families. Besides, he suggested that by discharging duties under the influence of liquor would certainly tarnish the image of police among people. Verma told the cops to work earnestly and honestly, as the department is taking complete care of the family members. It has also been decided that the department pays the fees of those wards of the cops going for higher studies like IIT or IIM.
