A notorious criminal was nabbed on late Friday on the charge of snatching a gold chain worth Rs40,000 from a 38-year-old woman near military gate in Shahjehanabad locality on Friday night.
According to the police, victim lalita Naagar, along with her husband, was on her way to home after shopping when a notorious criminal of the area Rajesh Chhoo (40) snatched gold chain from her neck and fled the spot.
The victim lodged a complaint with the Shahjehanabad police and after the preliminary investigation the police identified the person involved in the crime as Rajesh Chhoo has been booked for several crimes in the past.
Police team was dispatched and the accused was nabbed by the police but failed to recover the gold chain. The victim in her complaint had claimed that the gold chain was worth Rs 40,000. The police have registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation for recovering the gold chain.
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old woman was relieved of a gold chain at Shakti Nagar under Govindpura police station on Friday night. Police said the victim Arpana Shrivastava was on evening stroll with her family near her house, when two bike-borne miscreants appeared and snatched gold chain from her neck and escaped the spot.
Before the family members could react the two miscreants managed to escape.
The victim informed the police and lodged a compliant with the Govindpura police. After preliminary investigation police have
registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC.
