Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi alleged that it was only advertisement that increased in last five years.
Gandhi who landed in Madhya Pradesh for the first time during elections sought blessings of lord Mahakal and later she held a roadshow in the city. Late Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi too have visited this noted temple in the past.
This was the first time Gandhi had campaigned for Congress party in Madhya Pradesh. The party general secretary had visited MP once in the past in a private visit, a Congress media cell member said.
Addressing an election rally at Ratlam, Gandhi chose to focus her assault on PM Modi solely. “In last year, its only and only advertisement everywhere and it is being projected that whatever work was done in last 60-70 years has been, an equal amount of work has been done in five years.”
The ads only increased as elections approached, she claimed.
There were big announcements with pictures of PM Modi but the reality was different, said the leader drawing an example from UP.
The BJP was boasting that power bills were slashed but I met several women during the UP trip who showed me bills claiming the power is supplied for two-three hours but they are getting Rs 35,000 or Rs 50,000 bills.
He only visits places for delivering speeches during elections and could not find five minutes in last five years to visit his constituency Varanasi and meet the poor or farmer to ask about their well-being, alleged Gandhi.
