Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee (MPSHC) has on Thursday clarified that it is not conducting any Umarah tour. The MPSHC in a statement made it clear that the neither the Haj Committee of India (HCI) nor the MPSHC has not authorised any individual or the institution neither any license or permission has been provided to anyone to conduct Umrah tours.
Umrah is going to Mecca, second to the main pilgrimage- Haj. Umrah is often referred to as the ‘little pilgrimage’, and while the Haj is compulsory, the Umrah is not. However, it is recommended by the Quran, as well as within Islamic practice. The Umrah is not compulsory but highly recommended. Umrah could be performed anytime of the year except while Haj could be performed only once a year that too on a fixed date.
MPSHC in its statement said that people are making enquiry from its chairman from last many days that are arrangements of Umrah tours being made by the MPSHC and some peoples have been made authorised to carry out this responsibility.
In this context, the MPSHC came out with its clarification and made it clear that neither the MPSHC, nor its chairman or HCI have made anyone authorised for conducting Umrah tours. The HCI does not make any arrangement for sending people on Umrah. Hence, we call upon all the concerned to not get mislead over the issue and do not fall under trap of any such person, who claims to be authorised by the HCI for conducting Umrah tours. If anyone falls in trap of such persons and suffers any financial or other losses, then HCI and MPSHC would not be responsible for that, the statement said.
