The newly-elected Madhya Pradesh Government has wooed Noida-based industries to shift from UP with promises of a slew of incentives, concessions and welfare measures. Meeting industry bodies of Noida in New Delhi MP State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC) and the State’s Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation have promised to make available land within a 300 km radius of Noida at cheap rates for relocation or for setting up fresh industries. Besides, a host of subsidies have also been promised to Noida industries.

The areas where land has been offered in MP include Gwalior, Malanpur, Banmor and the Sitapur-Morna belt. During the meeting, a number of industries expressed their willingness to set up units in the Sitapur region. A delegation of entrepreneurs from Noida had met MP government officials on an invitation to discuss infrastructural issues related to setting up industries in the State. “We are willing to go to these areas subject to setting up of basic infrastructure facilities first. We have put a set of demands for infrastructure development,” said Vipin Malhan, president, Noida Entrepreneurs’ Association (NEA).

The MP Government, on its part, has promised that mega projects would be given 75% rebate on land premium up to 20 acres, apart from individual customized packages. Special subsidies have been offered for food processing units besides entry tax exemption for all units for a period of 5 years as part of the incentives offered.

For developing infrastructure, NEA presented a memorandum of eight demands that include land on leasehold basis, development of residential sectors alongside industrial sectors and for ensuring easy availability of raw materials by developing commercial areas. Uninterrupted electricity supply and security have also been demanded.
