PNS

The Election Commission or the State Government would not provide any security guard to candidates who are contesting in the forthcoming Assembly elections. And if the candidates ask for the guards then he would have to get this facility at own expenses.

The Election Commission, which has also asked district officials to send revised elections plan up to August 20, further informed that  no security force would be provided to the supervisors of the election process. The Commission further informed that the State was already facing shortage of police and paramilitary force and said the services of jawans are utilised in the security of leaders instead of election work. But it has also given an option that if the candidates want to get security he can do so at his own expenses. The formula would also apply to the security of supervisors.

In the revised plan demanded from the Collectors and SPs, the position of old district has been asked to make clear. In case of Naxal and dacoit affected regions the centers have been asked to clarify. This arrangement has been made to identify such areas where condition of the security should be strengthening. It is stated that according to initials serves there are nearly 53,896 polling centers out of which 15, 0500 are critical centers. This time one sector mobile magistrate would be posted at 10 to 12 polling centers.
