Despite knowing the facts, the senior police officers are attempting to safeguard a sub-inspector who had misbehaved with the foreign citizen.

A German woman, who was at the Nadra Bus Stand on Monday night along with her male friend, was forcibly taken to the police outpost and the two were forced to remain there till 3 o’clock in the morning.

The victim Kim Klean had claimed that the police personnel had asked her indecent questions and made lewd remarks.

Victim has lodged a complaint with SSP Raman Singh Sikarwar, but no action has been taken till date. The victim has also lodged a complaint with the German High Commission in New Delhi.

Probably, the sub-inspector who had detained the foreign citizen did not know the consequences of misbehaving with a foreigner woman and he crossed all the limits.

However, the situation is not better even when it comes to the role of senior officials. SHO of Hanumanganj police station Bhupendra Singh in the night only apologised to the woman, but no action was taken against the sub-inspector.

Police officials including City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Navratan Singh justified the action of police in the night stating that it was necessary for the safety of people.

“Police have discharged their duties which they are assigned to shoulder and in the process delay would be caused as security and safety of people is the prime factor for the police,” Singh.

Additional SP Manu Vyas stated that the claims made by the foreign citizen are not true. “Initially, she claimed that she had gone to bus stand for mobile phone recharge but no mobile phone recharge shop remains open at around 1 o’clock,” he added.

Police personnel discharged their duties. During routine policing, the cops had spotted the woman and the youth and questioned them, he added.
