The Nishatpura police have nabbed two women accused involved in stealing gold and silver jewellery and recovered stolen ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakh from jewelry shop at Karond in the past few months.
Police said that acting on information of the victim Nishant Semani two women were nabbed from his shop Hariom jewelers shop. The two accused were identified as Kalpana Raikwar and Sapna Raikwar.
Earlier, the victim lodged a complaint regarding the stealing of gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 3.5 lakh have been stolen from his shop in the past three months and when the CCTV footages were checked two women were found stealing jewelry from his shop. The victim informed the police when the accused came to their shop on Friday and the police nabbed the accused.
Based on the complaint police registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and started investigation.
Police said that after the victim’s complaint jewelry theft came to fore. Police said that the miscreants might have targeted other shops as well and further investigation would be conducted in this regard.
