Janani Express and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram online monitoring software has been developed for real time monitoring of Janani express services and getting regular feedback on Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram services. The online system has been developed with technical support of UNICEF for NRHM and Government of Madhya Pradesh.
The software will help in monitoring of more than 900 Janani express vehicles in all 50 districts of the State for improving their performance and services provided in government hospitals.
The system was first piloted in Guna and Shivpuri district in January this year and has been scaled up across the State. As of today it has data of nearly 200,000 pregnant women and sick children.
This software generates reports and graphs on different parameters including call conversion rate, beneficiaries by caste, response time, average distance travelled and also compares performances of different districts in
the State.
All the vehicles under Janani Express are fitted with Global positioning system and there movement can be monitored from the State level.
A State level monitoring cell has been established under NRHM for regular monitoring of services and to take feedback regarding quality of maternal and newborn health services from the client including monitoring of money charged for any of these services.
Automated weekly feedback's are sent to district officials including District Collectors and to State level officers regarding incidence where expenses are made by client for availing services and action is taken in
such cases.
This monitoring system would help in increasing accountability of health system to ensure that quality services are provided in time and free of charge to pregnant women and sick children.
