The department of Pathology & Lab Medicine, AIIMS Bhopal conducted the final offline round of the National Pathology MBBS Quiz under the aegis of the Indian Association of Pathologist & Microbiologist (IAPM) on November 30.
A total of 307 teams had registered, while 218 teams participated in the online screening round. The teams were distributed in 4 (north, south, east, and west) zones. The top two winning teams from each zone contested the final offline round.
The participating colleges were: MAMC, New Delhi; AIIMS Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh; Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences, Koppal; JNMC Belgavi, Karnataka; Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh; BJMC Ahmedabad; and Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, MP. The quiz was inaugurated by the Dean Academics, Prof. Rajnish Joshi, and was graced by the presence of Prof. Neelkamal Kapoor (Former HOD Pathology, AIIMS Bhopal). Dr. Jyoti Priyadarshani Shrivastava, Prof. Pathology, GRMC, Gwalior, was present on the occasion.
The IAPM-nominated observer did her job vigilantly. The quiz, which consisted of a total of eight rounds, was well appreciated by the audience and the IAPM observer. The winners and the 1st and 2nd runners-up of this national quiz were awarded trophies and certificates by the Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Ajai Singh.
The first prize was awarded to Raghav Bhatia and Manas Anand from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, Karnataka; the second prize to Sagarika Agrawal and Srijan Satyam from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh; and the third prize was awarded to the team of Mohammed Shahroz Hasan and Manuj Chaturvedi from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
This national Quiz was held under the chief coordinatorship of Prof. Vaishali Walke, HOD Pathology, AIIMS Bhopal and in coordination with DrSharda Rane President IAPM and Dr Ranjan Agrawal, Secretary, IAPM.
The successful execution of the event was possible with the wholehearted cooperation and support of the organizing team consisting of the faculty members, residents, and staff of Pathology & Lab Medicine, as well as the untiring efforts of the quiz masters Dr Sramana Mukhopadhyay (Addl Prof) and Dr Shakti Kumar Yadav (Asst Prof).
