Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan inspected the Nadra Bus Stand on Friday in view of the metro rail station construction and directed the preparation of a comprehensive action plan for relocating shops, drinking water, and sewer lines at the metro rail work site.
He told officials to carry out the work in strict adherence to the action plan. Chief Engineer Udit Garg, Assistant Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Ekta Agarwal, and other civic body and Metro Rail Corporation officials were present at the inspection. Narayan reviewed the metro rail work in the area and sought detailed information regarding the construction of the underground metro and metro station in the region.
He was informed that shops, as well as water supply and sewer pipelines in the Nadra Bus Stand area, need to be relocated to facilitate the construction of the proposed metro station. Narayan was also briefed that the metro rail in this area will be underground. Issuing instructions to Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, Narayan said that a proper action plan needs to be followed for the removal of shops in the metro rail work area. He also instructed that the shifting of water supply and sewer lines should be executed in a systematic manner. Meanwhile, BMC zonal officials removed encroachments at the main entrance of the Bhopal Junction railway station for the second consecutive day. Speaking on condition of anonymity, BMC workers said the anti-encroachment drive intensified at the behest of Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, who has been conducting inspections throughout the city to take stock of preparations.
