The Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has taken cognisance over the incidence of forcibly turning out a pregnant woman from the Dindori District Hospital due to which the delivery of the woman was held at the gate of hospital. The Commission has told the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dindori to submit detailed report of the incidence before it.
Chandrakala wife of Balakdas Baghel resident of Kalgitola Mehwani was referred to Dindori District Hospital at 2 pm on Friday from Rai Health Centre where the nursing put up a tube telling that she is suffering with urine infection and thereafter no one took care of her. On Saturday the labour pains of the woman increased from 2 pm but the duty doctors didn’t came and at 9 pm the woman suffering from labour pain was thrown out of the hospital by nursing staff due to that she delivered child at the gate of the hospital.
The Commission considering the incidence as inhuman took cognizance of it and called detailed report of it from the CMHO. The Commission has asked the CMHO that under what conditions the woman was taken out of the hospital and who took her out besides which doctor was on duty at the time of incidence and when was the woman admitted in the hospital and when did her delivery took place. Now the CMHO would have to answer all these questions asked by the Commission though no time frame has been fixed by the Commission.
