Ahead of the June 11 Rajya Sabha polls, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Thursday issued three line whip for its legislators.

Chief Whip of the Congress legislative Party (ClP) in Madhya Pradesh assembly Ramniwas Rawat by issuing three line whip for the party legislators to vote in favor of Congress nominee for Rajya Sabha Vivek Tankha also apprised all the legislators about the compulsion of voting.

The legislators who could not attended the ClP meeting held in party’s state office on June 6 have also been informed about the whip by e-mail, postal services and whatsapp etc. The legislators who did not attended the June 6 meet include Dinesh Ahirwar representing Jatara assembly constituency, Ramesh Patel representing Barwani assembly constituency and Goverdhan Upadhyaya representing Sironj assembly constituency.

Notably, now constitutionally the legislators of the Congress party would have to compulsorily show their ballot before voting to party’s polling agent failing that the vote would be considered repeal and for violating party whip action under party change membership would be suspended.

The MPCC has also instructed all the legislators to reach Bhopal on the schedule date and to gather at the place told besides the MlAs have also been sent copy of the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) for proper voting.
