The State Congress on Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the death of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav's son, Shailesh Yadav, in lucknow. Shailesh, who was named as an accused in the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, was found dead at his father's official residence in lucknow on Wednesday.

leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh legislative Assembly Satyadev Katare told mediapersons, “We demand a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Shailesh Yadav as his name had figured in the MPPEB scam.” The Congress leader was talking to reporters outside the Vidhan Sabha complex in Bhopal, where the partymen are holding an indefinite protest on the issue of farmers hit by untimely rains and hailstorms.

lucknow Police has said that the exact cause of Shailesh's death could not be ascertained immediately. Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has been admitted to Bansal Hospital in Bhopal for the last few days as he has been suffering from acute respiratory problems, hospital sources said. The Governor himself is an accused in the multi-layered MPPEB scam and the Special Task Force that was probing the scam had recently filed an FIR against him in this regard.

Yadav had filed a petition in the high court challenging filing of an FIR against him on the grounds that he enjoys immunity as Governor of the State. Notably, Congress had been demanding CBI probe in the scam for years. Senior leaders of the party had also approached High Court and Supreme Court in this regard, but their pleas were rejected, as the High Court has formed Special Investigating team (SIT) to look into the investigation being conducted by Special Task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh police.
