Becoming the first state to adopt Common Eligibility Test (CET) based scores for offering Government jobs, Madhya Pradesh has announced to recruit candidates for Government jobs on the basis of National Recruitment Agency (NRA) test.
In order to reduce burden of multiple recruitment examinations on the candidates, the Centre had on Wednesday constituted NRA which will carry out the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment on central government posts.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauding the Centre’s move wrote on twitter, “Madhya Pradesh is the first state to decide that it candidates for government jobs will be recruited on the basis of test scores of NRA exam.”
Other states could emulate the move to offer relief to the students, said Chouhan. The state has already announced to offer government jobs to domicile candidates only.
It’s a unique and revolutionary step we have taken for the youths of the state, that they no longer need to appear in separate exams for getting government jobs, added Chouhan.
In place of multiple recruitment exams including – Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), the youths could only appear in one test to get government jobs, added Chouhan lauding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the step.
Union minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said the multi-agency body NRA will conduct a CET to screen or shortlist candidates for the Group B and C (non-technical) posts and will provide a level playing field to all candidates.
The minister said the move will not only lead to ease of recruitment, selection and job placement, but will also ultimately ensure ease of living, as about 1,000 centres, one in each district will be set up, where candidates can take the test.
