Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal and wheat exporters in New Delhi on Thursday and discussed about the increase in international export of quality wheat from Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan said that at present, view of the increase in the prices of food grains at the international level, the state government and wheat exporters should make combined efforts to ensure that farmers of the state get maximum benefits. He said that with our joint efforts, wheat of Madhya Pradesh would spread its luster in the global mandis.

The Chief Minister said that production of wheat in Madhya Pradesh is the strength of the state, it has to be exported all over the world. For this we have taken some important decisions. Mandi tax will not be levied on the wheat that will be exported from the state. Every facility will be made available to the exporters through the Export Cell in Bhopal.

Any company or trader can buy wheat from anywhere in the state on a single license. The process of online auction is available in the market, exporters can buy wheat by registering with a local person. For value addition and quality certification of wheat, facilities like infrastructure and lab etc. will be made available to the exporters in major mandis of the state. If exporters need space for export houses in major mandis will temporarily provide them at concessional rates. If the exporter has to do the grading of wheat, then the cost will also be reimbursed. Railways has assured that there will be no problem of rakes, exporters will be able to export their wheat from any port.

Chouhan said that with these decisions the export of wheat of the state will increase and farmers of Madhya Pradesh will get more benefits.

This time also the state will have a bumper crop due to the government’s agriculture-oriented policies and hard work of the farmers.

Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Sanjay Shukla and other senior officers were present along with Madhya Pradesh government.
