Modi magic ensures BJP's win in Maharashtra, Haryana: Chouhan

Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday attributed the BJP’s victories in Maharashtra and Haryana to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dynamic leadership.

Chief Minister Chouhan while talking to mediapersons here at Banjli airstrip on Sunday said, “The pace of development work in both the States will be accelerated under the leadership of Modi. The electorate of these States once again reposed faith in Modi.”

Chouhan said, “We are proud that people have again shown faith in the leadership of Modi. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and Bharatiya Janata Party’s president Amit Shah’s organisation skills helped us in winning the faith of the people in both the States.”

He said till now, BJP supporters had been contesting the elections in these States but the confidence and the killer instinct was lacking. It was Modi’s charisma that infused this in party workers, he added.

To a query about formation of Government in Maharashtra, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister who is also the member of BJP’s parliamentary board said the board would take final decision in this regard. Asked whether he would be interested to go to Delhi politics, the Chief Minister quipped “Still I am with the Centre.”

He said Prime Modi’s magic has worked yet again for the BJP as the new Government has passed its first litmus test after coming to Centre. The party, for the first time, got clear majority and will form Government on its own in Haryana, he added.

Chouhan attended several programmes here on Sunday. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the star campaigner for the party in both the States and held several rallies. The party was trying to cash in on the ‘Modi wave’ to gain maximum number of votes.
