On the third day of the summer vacation workshop, Model Rocketry organised at Regional Science Centre, the students prepared the rockets individually and also launch them.
Notably, the summer workshop Model Rocketry is evoking a mesmerising response by the school students. This session includes middle school students who have participated in the workshop to enhance their knowledge about science and its various streams.
Through fun learning activities, the students are exploring the unknown and unique facts about science not only attending lectures, but also practically.
Here on Wednesday, the sstudents prepared many model rockets. They performed the swing test to locate the centre of gravity of the rocket. Many rockets were launched (tested) on the terrace of the Centre.
The students undoubtedly enjoyed the activity and were really excited about launching their own rockets. Basically the students prepared the rockets using readymade solid fuel and pastel paper.
They have prepared all the parts of the rocket and assembled them successfully. Interestingly, each student individually prepared one rocket on the first day of the workshop and also named their rockets according to their choice.
The students learned to prepare the small version of the original rocket along with the parts used in it. The Regional Science Centre every year organises this workshop so that the children could learn practically what they study in text books.
As many as 22 students from various schools of Bhopal participated in the workshop. In the first two days the children prepared the rockets and here on Wednesday they launched them.
Moreover, on the fourth and the fifth day of the workshop the students would enhance their mechanical skills more and on the concluding day they would give a demo before the parents, informed Education Officer of science centre MM Rout. The workshop would conclude on May 23.
