Mixing politics, education hurts nation's dignity

Staff Reporter

The State vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ajaypratap Singh said that with the mixing of politics and education, the dignity of the nation has come under question.

Singh in a statement here on Sunday said that the doors of the academic campuses must be open for the development of the nation, and with the mixing of politics with education the pride of the nation has been affected.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) incident, where anti-national slogans were shouted, is an example. Campuses are turning into political arena, added Singh.

Singh further said that the opportunistic politicians have turned the youth into their messengers. The corrupt politics is being sowed into the hearts of young minds that were willing to do something for the nation. He further requests the young India to be a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s make in India, digital India and skilled India.

The party and leaders who are leading the youth in a negative direction must be exposed, added Singh.

He further said that previously academic campuses were called as the primary school of ideological commitment and politics, but today they are made to be the political hub which is highly worrisome.

He said the central government must take a strong stand in this matter. Today the real issue is not the freedom of expression, but the commitment towards the society and nation. The academic campuses can be schools for politics, but must not be a nursery for a special political party, he added.
