In a major breakthrough in the process of maintaining peace and law and order during the lok Sabha elections Bhopal Crime Branch nabbed seven miscreants from Govindpura and MP Nagar area and recovered eight illegal guns and seven live cartridges from their possession on Saturday.
Under the campaign against the possession of illegal arms four pistols, two revolvers and two country made pistols along with seven live cartridges were recovered from 7 miscreants having criminal records.Around 52 cartridges of 12 bore gun were also recovered from Karbala in Upper lake.
In the Govindpura area, a pistol, two live cartridges and a stolen scooter was recovered from Vicky alias Sadiq Khan (26) of Qazi Camp, a pistol was recovered from Shakeel Mansoori (24) of Rajeev Nagar Kotral and a country made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from Shafeeq alias Sappu (20) of Kamla Nagar .
In the MP Nagar area a revolver and a live cartridge was recovered from Faizan (20) of Banganga area, a pistol was recovered from Farooq Ali (20) of Bajaria, one country made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from Saad Khan (19) of Tailaya and one pistol was recovered from Faiz Ahmed of Aishbagh.
Vicky hails from lalitpur Uttar Pradesh and confirmed that the scooter was stolen Chhatarpur area. He was also wanted by Ashoka Garden police and he escaped earlier.In the initial investigation, the crime branch Bhopal found that Sadiq used to supply arms and ammunition to the criminals of the city. The officials told that the chain would be broken of illegal supply of weapons and the sources supplying the illegal arms could be identified and action would be taken against those involved.
The nabbed miscreants are involved in several serious offences including theft, physical assault, robbery, extortion and have been externed earlier.
