Mhow Cantt turns encroachers' paradise

PNS

Encroachers have been easily occupying the defence land in Mhow Cantonment area. They are constructing houses and buildings under the nose of the Cantonment Board office and defence estate office and the administration instead of stopping the construction is acting as a mere spectator.

The recent case is of Prashanti Hospital situated on defence land on Simrole road Mhow. The hospital owner is constructing a two-storey building without any guidelines and any building permission passed by the Mhow Cantonment Board.

Sources say that the cantonment board authorities get a heavy amount from the encroachers so they overlook the construction and when the construction is over, they will issue notice to the encroachers and the encroachers will move to the court and seek stay against the demolition and then use the building for the commercial purposes and every month give a fix amount to the concerned authorities as bribe. The concerned authorities don’t take action when the encroachment is going on in greed of bribe.

locals of Mhow alleged that the defence ministry should take strict action against the cantonment board employees and defence estate office employees, who are responsible for the illegal construction.

CMHO Indore Dr Mahesh Malviya told The Pioneer that we will issue notice to the hospital under the nursing home act and ask about the building permission and maps and also investigate the building that does it fulfill the norms of nursing home.

Mhow cantonment board Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Rajaram Pawar said that the construction of building is totally illegal and encroachment and we will demolish the hospital.
