Bharatiya Janata Party State (BJP) has stated that the merger of the railway budget with the general budget is a meaningful initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a statement, State spokesperson and parliamentarian Alok Sanjar said that this would stop the political use of the Rrailways Ministry. In the past, it has been used as a medium of politics. A lot of announcements were made due to politics but it had factually stopped the development of railway. Various projects of the railway used to get stuck in the home State of the Railway Minister.
Sanjar further said that the merger of the railway budget with the general budget would end the scope of political use of the railway. Former Railway Minister lalu Prasad Yadav has become ‘management guru’ with the help of railway but the reality is lalu had ended the recruitments in the railways. lalu himself glorified his name by adding the profit of industrial production with the income of the railways.
Sanjar stated that the share of railways in the transportation of goods has been reduced to 30 per cent. The merger of budget is relevant in order to increase this. Government is also considering for the integration of all the ministries of transport. This integration would make the imagination of transportation come true, he added.
